FOURMILEWATER CEMETERY EXTENSION APPEAL
The cemetery in Fourmilewater church in Ballymacarbry is near capacity. Luckily, for the last number of months, our cemetery committee have been planning the extension to the current cemetery area and have overseen and lodged planning applications and discussions to extend our cemetery for the future. These have now been accepted and we are now ready to begin work on our cemetery extension in the coming weeks.
As part of the extension, we have also looked at the current cemetery area and have included in the plans, to re-surface the main pathway in the centre and to clean up the end area as part of the plans. Obviously, there will be a cost to the parish of approx. €40,000 to implement this necessary extension and upgrade of our cemetery in Fourmilewater.
We are so grateful to all the parishioners and locals who contribute to the Parish, and we are asking, if possible, for extra support for this extension to be completed before the end of the year. There are a number of ways to support this one-off project:
- For these who use our weekly envelopes, our Parish and Development Fund monthly collection will be used for this project in the coming months, and we are grateful for any extra you may be able to give here.
- Special envelopes are available in the church porches and local areas, and can be returned in the collection or sent to the parish office
- A Cheque can be made out to Fourmilewater / Newcastle Parish and sent to Parish Office, Newcastle, Co Tipperary, E91 RT02
- A QR Code to payzone will link you to an online donation by debit or credit card.
Please see the Information Sheet in the porches for further information, and a sincere “thank you” for your support in this important project.
FR COLM O’RYAN
Next Sunday, we are delighted to “welcome home” Fr Colm O’Ryan, who will celebrate the 9am Mass in Fourmilewater on 28th August.
PARISH MINI-RETREAT TO KNOCK
We need to pay the hotel in the coming week, so I would be grateful if all those booked could make the payments by this Friday. Drop into Paddy in the Parish Office in Ardfinnan, or to Fr Michael.
YOU CAN ALSO PAY ONLINE. GO TO OUR WEBSITE AND CLICK ON ‘DONATE’ – you will see a payment option for ‘Parish Pilgrimage to Knock’ where payments can be made by card.
CCTV CAMERAS / LIVESTREAM
Please note that for the protection and security of everyone CCTV cameras are in operation in our churches. All of our Masses are Live streamed in Ardfinnan and are at other times broadcast from Newcastle , Fourmilewater, Ballybacon and Grange on Churchservices.tv and Facebook Live pages.
Please contact Paddy in the Parish Office on 052-746 4408 or Fr Michael in Newcastle / Fourmilewater for those who wish to book baptisms in the coming months. We can now have two families at one time – but would ask that each family only bring a maximum of 15 people with them, to keep us all safe.
God bless, and keep safe!
