Pope Francis has called the whole Church to enter into a Synodal Journey, one which will focus our attention on what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church throughout the world. The Synod calls on all people; committed Mass goers, the lapsed, the ones who come only at Christmas, and those who do not come at all. The Synod calls for the Spirit to speak through everyone in or out the church.

The way in which we hope to hear the Spirit is through a series of “Faith Conversations”, which will be held in different venues throughout the Diocese. Each person will be listened to with respect, and their experience will be honoured. Therefore whatever each person has to say is not open for debate; it will not be refuted, but rather accepted and recorded, and passed on to the Synod officials in Rome.

Parishes or clusters of Parishes throughout the diocese will offer sessions in a relaxed environment to express what they truly feel to move our Church forward on the synodal pathway, united in communion, participation and mission.  The dates for these  local sessions are as follows:

Cahir House Hotel on Monday 25th April. 7.30pm

Minella Hotel, Clonmel on Thursday 28th April. 7.30pm

It would be great to have as many of our parishioners those who regularly attend and those who rarely do, to have their say!

Those who wish to do so, may fill out the simple questionnaire and submit their thoughts and reflections online.

Many thanks to Free Burke for arranging the cleaning of the Sanctuary Lamp in Ballybacon Church. It looks brand new! It will be blessed at Mass this Sunday.

It’s that time of year again when we in the School hold our Spring ‘clothes and more’ collection. It’s an important fundraiser, one that we rely on everyone’s  support for it to be successful. We would be very grateful for yours!

Please help by dropping a  bag or more to the School between 11.00a.m. and 1.00p.m. on Saturday April 30th. Details of what is accepted by the company are on a poster in the porch. We will also be pleased to accept bags during the days before the above. These can be left in over the front wall at a time suitable to you.

Please spread the word to friends and relatives!

The more that hear about this event the more successful it will be.

 Many thanks in advance.

Ardfinnan N.S. Finance Committee.

P.S. Thanks for previous support. The funds earned were invested in playground markings/games in the inner yard mainly.
