40 HOURS EXPOSITION OF
THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
As part of the national initiative to pray for vocations and to coincide with the start of Lent we will be having a 40 hour Exposition the Blessed Sacrament across our five churches in the first week of Lent. The hours will be spread across the 5 days in each church and will involve students from our schools during the day. We would be grateful if parishioners could also commit one hour on the sheets in the porches to ensure we have a constant prayer over the 40 hours.
Each day begins with Mass at 10am, with
prayers with the local schools during the day, concluding with Benediction at 6.30pm.

Monday 19th GRANGE 10am Mass – 6.30pm Benediction.
Tuesday 20th BALLYBACON-10am Mass – 6.30pm Benediction
Wednesday 21st FOURMILEWATER 10am Mass – 6.30pm Benediction
Thursday 22nd NEWCASTLE 10am Mass – 6.30pm Benediction

WEEKLY ENVELOPE BOXES
The new weekly boxes of envelopes are now available in the churches. These envelopes are distributed to homes in the parish that request them every year to support the day to day running of the parish, and the upkeep of our buildings. They also include the Parish Development fund which goes towards costs in updating our churches.
For those who require a box of envelopes, or they cannot find their own, please complete a form in the porches and return it to the sacristy / Fr Michael.
You have all been so generous in these weekly collections in the past and I thank you most sincerely for your support in ensuring our buildings are kept safe and up to date for future generations.

MAINTENANCE URGENTLY NEEDED- APPEAL
There is some urgent work needed to be done in Ardfinnan church in the coming weeks as there has been a problem with the roof in the back sacristy / office area. While we have done our best to resolve the issue over the years, it will now need a significant amount of work and will cost around €30,000 to resolve.

After discussing with the parish council, we are asking parishioners if they would like to assist with the costs of this roofing issue which needs urgent addressing. While we do have enough money in the parish Development Fund to cover it, this would severely deplete this fund in case any other works were needed in the near future particularly works planned for Grange this year. Special appeal envelopes are available in the porches, and we thank you so much for anything you can contribute towards this special maintenance appeal.
